Dr.
Benjamin Dunford is an Associate Professor at the Krannert School of
Management, Purdue University. He also
has formal academic affiliations with the Department of Psychological Sciences
and Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering at Purdue University, and School
of Management at Seoul National University in South Korea. Professor Dunford is a recognized teacher at Masters
and Executive levels on topics including negotiation, organizational change,
leadership, compensation, employee engagement, conflict management and labor
relations. His research focuses on how
the management of people impacts organizational effectiveness, employee
engagement and safety outcomes, with special emphasis on the healthcare
industry. On these topics he has published over 25 peer reviewed journal
articles, conference proceedings and book chapters. His research has been recognized for excellence
from the Academy of Management, the Labor and Employee Relations Association, Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, the Journal of Healthcare
Management, and the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. Professor Dunford has consulted with
numerous firms from a variety of industries including, media, restaurant,
aluminum, and telecommunications but most extensively in healthcare. He earned his PhD from Cornell University in
2004, and holds Masters and Bachelor's degrees in Psychology from Indiana
University-Purdue University Indianapolis and Brigham Young University,
respectively.
